The Global Leadership Summit was launched 30 years ago by the Willow Creek Community Church with a clear mission: to encourage Christians to develop their leadership by sharing proven strategies and inspiring testimonies — to have a greater impact for the Kingdom of God.

 

Since then, every year, world leaders gather in Willow Creek to experience the event live, while it is simultaneously broadcast to over 450 locations across North America. Today, more than 800 events are held in 135 countries!

 

Belgium joined this movement in 2008, hosting its very first Summit in Rhode-Saint-Genèse. Since then, the event has already taken place in Charleroi, Haacht, Heverlee, and—since 2024—in Brussels. That makes 18 years of GLS in Belgium!

 

From the beginning, the Summit's objective has been clear: to inspire and equip leaders — pastors, elders, committed volunteers, young and old — to become actively involved in the life of the Church, communities, organizations and in their workplace.

 

We believe that every Church carries a God-given potential, just waiting to be fully unleashed.
The local church is the hope of the world!
